A number of Windows Phone 10 leaks have been released just recently. One Chinese website had shown that the opersating system used for the demonstration was labelled Windows 10 Mobile Technical Preview. Screenshots are posted on the website, giving out hints of what to expect from Microsoft’s next mobile platform.
The demoed Windows 10 Mobile featured a Continuum user interface, which is thought to be more user-friendly than that of the current Windows Phone platform. It also has a reliable cloud-based framework, which enables users to save files to their One Drive account on their PC and fetch them later on any mobile device running Windows 10 Mobile.
As for the productivity, W10M comes with a full MS Office compatibility, which is said to support file formats created on different platforms, like iOS and Android. Recently, Microsoft has released Outlook on the said operating systems for managing email messages in a more practical manner.
There are also some new features added on Windows 10 Mobile Technical Preview. This includes a more simplified keyboard that can be configured for right or left hand use, a more organized start screen, as well as a more comprehensive notification screen.
The new Windows Phone OS will not be complete without its built-in personal assistant, Cortana. While already out on Windows Phone 8.1, a newly revised Cortana should be included with the new mobile platform. As an extra, Microsoft will preserve the user’s privacy by letting them control what Cortana knows via an editable notebook entry.
Skype was also made fully integrated into the OS with messages synced to other devices that run Windows 10. This feature goes along with the standard SMS.
Windows 10 Mobile Technical Preview was already released on selected areas only. However, Microsoft Insiders who are willing to beta test the new software will get the first version of Windows 10 on smartphones any time this month, but no exact release date was mentioned.
