Resident Evil HD Remaster Makes Record Breaking Sales

Capcom announced that the remaster of Resident Evil, named Resident Evil HD Remaster, is now its fastest selling game of all time. Gamespot reports that on the first day of being placed on sale at the PlayStation Network it broke the record and is hailed as "biggest selling day one digital title."

Sony also confirmed that even if it was released on the latter part of the month, Resident Evil HD Remaster was the top-selling game for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 for the month of January.

The remaster, Resident Evil HD, was launched last January 20 for game consoles and PC. Capcom first introduced the world to the Resident Evil franchise in 1996 according to an article on pastemagazine. The game was a quick hit and fans all over the globe loved it. It spawned multiple versions over the years and as can be seen on an imdb post, several movies that starred Milla Jovovich and Michelle Rodriguez were even made based on the video game. The Resident Evil franchise became very successful and popular worldwide and are available on almost every game console there is.

Resident Evil HD Remaster is currently the latest in the Resident Evil franchise and one of Capcom's most successful games ever. According to bloody-disgusting, Capcom placed the fate of Resident Evil on the hands of its fans with this version of the game. There are plans to reboot the franchise in the next versions of the game. That means only one thing: The followers of Resident Evil will get the game that they want. A very positive thing for fans to be able to make inputs on what the game that they love will turn into and not just relying on tweets, blogs, and social media to express what they want.

Another news about the franchise that will surely make every Resident Evil fan excited is that Resident Evil: Revelations 2 and possibly Resident Evil 7 is now in the works. The success of Resident Evil HD Remaster may give fans another thing to look forward to from Capcom, and that is Resident Evil 2. Resident Evil HD Remaster is still available for $20 for PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox One and 360, and PC.
