Spider Man Coming Home to Marvel Universe but Andrew Garfield will No Longer be the Fan-Favorite Wall-Crawler

Your friendly neighborhood Spider Man is coming home to Marvel Universe, but apparently the previous actor who played the iconic superhero, Andrew Garfield, is rumored to be replaced. Garfield was considered to be included in the Spider Man roles that will be co-produced by Marvel and Sony Pictures, however, Marvel wants to start anew with a younger actor.

Marvel fans' dreams are about to come true as their favorite wall-crawler will be reunited with his superhero pals in the Marvel Universe. Fans might be happy for the changes but not the 34-year-old Garfield, who played the role for Sony on two films. It is said that the actor was considered by Sony but Marvel wants to reset the button and wants a younger Spidey to be on the big screen according to Daily Mail.

Sony Pictures made a deal with Marvel to have collaboration with Spider Man's character to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is said that Spidey will be joining in some of his pals from the Avengers, like what happened in the comic book series. The two production company is also planning a solo movie for Spider Man in July 2017 as reported by Screenrant.

Sony had the license to Spider Man movies since Marvel sold them their rights on 1985 as reported by USA Today. At the time of the announcement of the collaboration of the two production-giants, it was confirmed that Amazing Spiderman star, Andrew Garfield, would no longer be reprising his role. However, before the deal was finalized, according to The Daily Beast, Garfield was still discussing his involvement with the studio so it's a big surprise that he will no longer share the screen with Robert Downey, Jr. and Chris Evans in the upcoming film that Sony and Marvel are cooking.

Screenrant got the scoop that Marvel's intention to give the role to a younger actor is to not be tied up to the movies that came before. The film production wants to move freely with the character so that audience will not be confused when Spidey meet Iron Man, creating a more convincing story.

Although there are now prospect actors to play the man behind the mask of Spider Man, like Logan Lerman and Dylan O'Brien, fans will still have to wait a little longer for the announcement as Marvel is very meticulous in picking characters after all "with great power, comes with great responsibility."
