Four-time Grammy Awards winner, Sam Smith received so much appreciation from the famous Ellen DeGeneres in her show last Monday.
"Stay With Me" singer guested to TheEllenShow days ago, and with his surprise, Ellen gave him a lot of remarks to his authenticity. She was referring to his acceptance speeches when he received the awards during the 57th Annual Grammy Awards with his fresh four wins.
According to MTV, the Sam was surprised with Ellen's gifts like the onesie pajamas with "4x Grammy Award Winner" stiched at the back and a small custom-made cabinet where he could place his four stunning awards in place at the end of his interview [from The Ellen Show episode last Monday].
During the interview, Sam shared stories behind his wonderful songs, which were mostly related to his failed relationships with men. "And I felt like a brave thing to do as well I wanted to do it before because if I did it afterwards people probably would have thought I was lying just to sell records," he said.
He told Ellen about how he treated his music with integrity, "I kind of just felt like I needed to mention it before I released the record so people knew what it was about."
Reported by Daily Mail UK What Ellen did appreciate about Sam is his option not to "overshadow" his career. Because for her, he could've have done it. With that, she applauded him for that admission, "The most important thing is what matters is talent and this just happens to be who you are," Sam added.
However, Ellen appreciated his sincerity by saying, "There are lot of people that are struggling ... so it's nice to have someone going look I'm successful I'm who I am. And you don't need to talk about it, it's just who you are."
In spite these challenges, Sam is still positive about figuring things out since he's just 22. He also shared that he's been in the toilet when he started his career since he once worked in cleaning toilet bowls just to earn money. As expected, this humorous host gave Sam a platinum toilet brush and plaque that read, "To commemorate the hundred of toilets you have scrubbed and to certify that you will never have to do it again."
Meanwhile, Media One Entertainment mentioned about Sam's experience prior to the awarding last year, where no one knew him in the red carpet. But it would be different this time after his winning.
According to the same site, Sam also revealed that he's dating someone. Later, warned by Ellen to watch out for those people who wanted to take advantage of him. In response, he joked, "I've just gotto make sure my next boyfriend can polish my Grammy's for me."
