How To Get Away with Murder character actor Jack Falahee maintains a surprisingly matter-of-factly attitude over his racy gay sex scenes, as he described how he transforms into his on-screen persona.
Falahee said that when he first read the pilot script, his first thought was that his character, gay law student Connor, was a “multi-faceted honest, real character.” He explained that he did not think much about the role’s homosexuality and the inevitable love-making that would soon follow, an IMDb report revealed. When pressed about his love scene with actor Conrad Ricamora’s character Oliver, Falahee simply said that perhaps audiences are not used to seeing this brand of eroticism on network television.
Further fanning the flames of intrigue and speculation is the fact that Falahee steadfastly refuses to categorically state whether he is straight or if he is gay, like his small-screen character. However, the actor seems perfectly comfortable in an intense bare-chested gay kissing scene from the series, published on E! Online.
The E! Online report also quoted the actor as saying that “he doesn’t think that answering who he is sleeping with accomplishes anything other than quenching curiosity.” However, during a panel interview with other How to Get away with Murder cast members, Falahee said that he did not draw from real-life experiences to get into character. He explained the he applies the Stella Adler acting method, which entails focusing on fictitious circumstances to prepare for a given role, the same report stated.
However, writer and producer Peter Norwalk was very candid in admitting that he is using the series as a means by which to further his “gay agenda.” Norwalk also referred to what seems to be his personal crusade as “wonderful” because it seeks to foster social equality, a Gawker report stated.
All the fuss really began with that short scene early in the series, wherein Connor (Falahee) engages an IT expert in some steamy man-on-man love-making, which included kissing his way down there.
