HTC One Hima, codenamed M9, is set to be released during the company's media kit on March 1, a day prior the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The Taiwanese manufacturer confirmed the release date of its 2015 flagship device, the One Hima, along with the advisory that it will be available in the UK several weeks after its official launch date. It also confirmed that the company will no longer be using M codenames and go with the name Hima for its flagship phone for 2015.
However, the phone's specs and price will not be revealed until the handset's official launching date. Going by the last week leaks of the phone's specs from tech reviewers, it seems that HTC addresses the weakest points of the One M8, HTC's flagship phone for 2014.
Hence, the phone might be sporting 20MP Toshiba T4KA7 for the main camera module. As such it will come with CMOS Image Sensor that can detect pixel correction and render up to 22 frames per second at a full resolution capture. It will also have an advanced digital zoom capability.
Moreover, it will be backed by Android Origin to replace the previous model's ultrapixel camera which drew negative feedback from the HTC supporters because of low megapixel maximum resolution.
For its software, it is said to have Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 chipset with quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 and quad-core 2 GHz Cortex-A57. It is also expected to have a better battery and improved audio features, two M8 features that also brought disappointment to the brand's supporters.
The phone's HD screen display could be around 5.0-inch with a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. HTC fans should also expect to see three storage options: 16-, 32- and 64-GB. All of these will be packaged in an exceedingly thin 7mm.
HTC might also possibly replace the HTC One M9 Plus by HTC Desire A55, the newest entry in the HTC Desire line. This handset is rumored to have a 5.5-inch HD display, a fast 3 GB RAM, a powerful MediaTek MT6795 octa-core 64-bit chipset, 32 GB storage, and a 20-megapixel rear camera.
