It’s a boy, and a girl too, apparently, for Han Solo and Leia according to the latest spoilers from what is arguably the most-anticipated film of the year, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Avid followers of Star Wars and those who have read the books published after the Return of the Jedi, know that George Lucas always intended for Han Solo and Leia to get married, and have twins. However, it took director J.J. Abrams and Disney to put a face and a purpose to the young Solos, who may very well overshadow their parents in importance in the new trilogy.
The twins will reportedly be named Jacen and Jaina Solo, both 17 years old as of Episode 7 timeline. Apparently, fraternal twins run in their Skywalker side of the family, not unlike Luke and Leia!
Jacen is a young man who has already exhibited great potential as a Jedi. However, spoilers have it that he will constantly be struggling with moral issues. In Star Wars language that means he will be drawn to the Dark Side like his Grandfather before him! The young man’s darker nature will, in time, get the better of him and he will eventually turn into the evil Darth Caedus, according to Schmoesknow.com.
His twin sister Jaina will apparently be the good sibling, and possibly her brother’s greatest nemesis further down the three-part road. Little is known about the Han’s baby girl except that she will be trained by her Jedi master uncle, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Schmoes also revealed.
Actor Adam Driver will play the young and confused Jacen Solo in The Force Awakens, Cinema Blend reported. In fact, the same report also revealed that rescuing him from the Dark Side will be an important part of the new trilogy.
Unlike Uncle Luke and Grandad Anakin, who were raised in the badlands of planet Tatooine, it seems the Solo twins will be raised amid more opulent surroundings. Mom Leia (Carrie Fisher), is now Queen of the Galactic Republic and Dad Han (Harrison Ford) has risen to the rank of Commander, the Ecumenical News stated.
Star Wars 7 is set to hit theaters in December, unless director Abrams decides to go for an earlier date in the wake of seemingly unstoppable plot and image leakages.
