Collin Firth Could Be On Kingsman sequel, According to Director Matthew Vaughn

By

Matthew Vaughn, director of the turned-movie comic series Kingsman, earlier revealed, as stated in reports, that the sequel for his hit movie will focus on the character of Taron Egerton, Eggsy, an intelligent youngster from the wrong side of the track, trained to be a gentleman spy

Vaughn, though, cleared that the focus on Eggsy will not preclude the movie sequel on including Harry Hart, an agent character played by Colin Firth.

"A lot of people are very upset that Colin might not be in the sequel but I'm coming up with ideas at the moment," Vaughn told. "If people buy tickets in America, I've got a feeling we'll figure out a way for having Colin back."

This is Vaughn's assurance, considering that the series is not only a hit to the UK but also to the US since its premier on the latter on 13 February.

The director defended his idea by saying, "The sequel will be 'This is the modern-day gentleman spy'. Because Harry isn't."

The film landed a huge success in the UK since its showing in the theatres on 29 January.

Based on the comic book The Secret Service by Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar, Kingsman stars Colin Firth, Michael Caine, Mark Strong and rising star Taron Egerton as members of a secret spy society trying to thwart a megalomaniac billionaire, played by Samuel L. Jackson, who is planning a mass genocide.

Speculations and worry on Firth's absence for the sequel arose on the film's ending when Colin's character, Harry Hart, met his end when he is fatally shot by villain Samuel L. Jackson.

Then again, Voughn, assured, as he is the Director, of Firth's return. Now fans just trust the guy on what to do. All they ask is for Collin's character still kicking hard in the sequel.

Directed by Matthew Vaughn, Kingsman is also co-written by Jane Goldman and again, Matthew Vaughn. It features Colin Firth, Taron Egerton, Samuel L. Jackson, among the few.
