"Spectre" Premiere Delayed Due to Set, Production Injuries: Will The Film be Released This Year?

By

"Spectre," the latest James Bond film due out this year, has suffered two major setbacks over the course of a week. ET Canada reports that Terry Madden, who's the second unit assistant director on the latest Bond film, was seriously injured on Tuesday. Apparently, a camera truck swerved off of the road and crashed into a barn- although it does appear that Madden is the only one with serious injuries. He sustained multiple fractures from the accident, according to reports.

Madden's also a James Bond series veteran- he's been involved with the production of every Bond film since "For Your Eyes Only" in 1981. With more than thirty years experience in the franchise, the studio's probably extremely invested in his recovery- hopefully, it won't take too long for Madden to get back on his feet and making more 007 films.

Before that, another accident struck the "Spectre" set. The Hollywood Reporter reveals that last week, star Daniel Craig injured his knee while shooting a fight scene. It's not clear how either of these injuries will affect the film's production, if at all, but it's possible that we may be seeing major delays in "Spectre" after these incidents. After all, when Harrison Ford was injured on the set of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," it was a major setback for that film's production.

But not all Bond news is bad news. Here's something that might perk your ears up a little bit- Autoblog reports that Bond will once again be driving an Aston Martin in the upcoming film. That car's as closely paired to the secret agent as a shaken martini (not stirred, never stirred), and it's a relief to know the car will be returning for the film. Autoblog spotted an Aston Martin DB10 on set at an English Palace, which may be involved in a car chase sequence. There were other vehicles- all equally high-end, of course- spotted in the same area.

"Spectre" is due out on November 6, 2015, and will star Craig as well as Christoph Waltz, Lea Seydoux, Naomie Harris and Dave Bautista. Plot details aren't known as of now, but recent footage showed the famed secret agent (and Bautista too, as a brawny villain) on a snowy mountaintop.
