A surveillance video of Aaron Hernandez dismantling his phone outside a police station a day after the killing of Odin Lloyd is shown into court and was retold by North Attleborough police Detective, Michael Elliott. The video took place one day after the killing of Odin Lloyd.
Police Detective Elliott testified on Hernandez's presence in their police station around 11 p.m. on June 17, 2013. Hernandez was asked to report on the station after a key of a Chevrolet Suburban was found in Odin's dead body. The key was supposedly for the Suburban that was rented by Hernandez.
Hernandez left the station after waiting for two hours in the interview room. Surveillance camera showed Hernandez sitting inside his lawyer's car, feet spread apart with on phone on hand and a dismantled one on his lap. It was assumed that the dismantled phone was his and the one he was using was that of his lawyer.
Prosecutors of the case believed that the video shows Hernandez calling co-defendant Ernest Wallace. Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz were also charged with the murder of Odin but are being tried separately. As the case moves on, prosecutors are leaning into the conclusion that it was Hernandez who orchestrated the killing.
A friend of Hernandez, Carlos Ortiz was also seen in a surveillance video with white towel around his neck. The same towel was found near the dead body of Odin. The video surveillance was taken at a gas station and a convenience store hours before the body of Odin Lloyd was found dead a few miles away from Hernandez's Attleborough residence.
Another police officer from the North Attleborough police, John Grim also sat on the witness chair and was examined by defense Attorney James Sultan. Grim was asked to identify the white towel Ortiz had in the video but claims that he was unaware of the item.
Ernest Wallace and Carlos Ortiz are believed to be the two people who were with Hernandez when they picked up Odin at this Boston Home. All of them pleaded not guilty for the crime.
