Katy Perry has confirmed it- she's officially, 100% not pregnant. Despite claims to the contrary, an insider close to Perry has confirmed to Gossip Cop that there are zero buns in her oven. Instead, she's too focused on her rigorous touring schedule and the Prismatic World Tour that she's currently on.
The rumors of Perry's pregnancy first began in OK! Magazine. A story published in the mag (via Celeb Dirty Laundry) reported that Perry was pregnant with John Mayer's child, and that the two were busily planning a wedding as well. According to the piece, Mayer, a well-known womanizer, had reportedly given up on playing the field and had "changed his ways"- indicating that he was ready to settle down and start a family with Perry.
After it broke, the false news story continued to escalate. Hollywood Life reported that a source close to Perry had revealed new details about her and Mayer's relationship. Apparently, Perry was "nervous about telling him, because he hasn't been the most reliable guy in the past. But he's sworn to her that he's a changed man - and when he told her about his hopes for having a baby together, Katy fell in love with him all over again."
Except, of course, for the fact that none of this is true, and whatever sources may have been cited were either lying about Perry, or making things up completely. In their reveal that the news was fake, Gossip Cop also took OK! Magazine to task, citing inconsitencies in their reporting and claiming that the entire story may have been speculation in the first place.
So yes, false alarm, people. One day, Katy Perry will probably be pregnant, and the world can celebrate with her (probably in the form of a brightly-colored musical number). But until then, you'll have to enjoy your baby-less Katy Perry, just like she's always been.
