Batman V. Superman Buzz: Fans Await Closer Look at Jason Momoa as Aquaman at Dawn of Justice Set

By

Anticipating fans cannot seem to get enough teasers of Jason Momoa playing Aquaman. The problem being that director Jack Snyder seems to be running a very tight ship with hardly any spoilers leaking out of the 'Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice' set.

Director Snyder, however, through his Twitter account revealed that they had just wrapped-up filming in Mexico. He also thanked the host country as he posted a pic of a very scenic Mexican beach. People are left to assume that we will find Aquaman darting through those very waters when the much-awaited movie is finally released on March next year.

It appears as though the public will have to content itself with mostly official spoilers and teasers from the producers. The latest sneak-peek to be posted on Snyder’s Twitter is a photo of Momoa as Aquaman, covered with native Polynesian tattoos and toting a mean-looking Trident to boot! “Unite the Seven,” the photo said.

However, Screen Rant seems to suggest that Aquaman’s role in the latest DC Comics-spawned flick is most likely to be introductory. It said the film is already “overstuffed” with characters and adding too many sub-plots may end up doing more harm than good. The movie should, therefore, focus more on its titular superheroes, Batman and Superman, and their respective alter-egos, the report stated.

While it is unlikely the Aquaman will hog the limelight this time around, his role in 'Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice' is expected to be significant nonetheless. It appears that the film is also intended to be sort of a coming out party for Wonder Woman, Shazam, Cyborg and those other super folks who will constitute the lead characters in Justice League, the next film on the Warner Bros. pipeline.

The Batman-Superman film and the Justice League movie that will follow, may very well set the stage for the Aquaman movie that is targeted for release sometime in 2018, Cinema Blend reported. In the same report Momoa was quoted as saying that the Aquaman solo movie is likely to be the origin story of DC’s King of the Seven Seas.
