J.J. Abrams has shed some light on the ongoing speculations for his upcoming movie. The director has spoken that some of the rumors surrounding "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" are legitimate.
In a recent interview with BBC News Entertainment:
"We did the best we can to preserve the story for the audience, but it doesn't always work. There are tons of rumours. - some true, some false. But I'm grateful for everyone who would want to read spoiler because it means that they care and want to see the movie. I know what it feels like, as an enormous Star Wars fan myself."
The 48-year-old also talked about the movie's status, "I can't wait for you to see it. It's been a blast working on the his and luckily we have an incredible post-production team. There are always challenges as you go but it's been a complete kick to put this together."
Abrams has always been known to keep secrets about his movie projects and there has been unconfirmed reports that he has considered an earlier release date to avoid the film from being ruined due to the constant plot and image leaks. The movie is scheduled for a December 18, 2015 release. Walt Disney Studios who had bought Episodes VII, VIII, and IX in 2010 from director and screen writer George Lucas, even requested a judge to issue a subpoena for website ImageShack as is hosted a leaked still of what seems to be a cloaked masked Sith Lord.
Abrams was involved in two Star Trek films; Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek Into Darkness (2013). He has also won a Saturn Award from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films for Best Director and Best Writing for the 2012 science fiction thriller film, Super 8. His other film for 2015 is the fifth installment for The Mission Impossibe Series, Mission Impossible 5.
