The movie for "Wonder Woman" is set to start filming this fall. Gal Gadot who nabbed the role of Diana Prince will first appear in the upcoming 2016 Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Reports have been confirmed that the Israeli actress and fashion model, will reprise her character both in a solo movie project that centers on the Amazonian Princess and in the upcoming first Justice League movie, also to be released in 2017. The movie will be produced by BvS:DAwn of Justice director, Zack Snyder. Michelle MacLaren of "Game of Thrones" and "Breaking Bad" TV series fame will be directing a script by "Pan" screenwriter Jason Fuchs. MacLaren's first big screen debut was the 2006 mystery-horror film, Population 436.
It has been rumoured that Warner Bros. Television is going for an ambitious trilogy with the "Wonder Woman" franchise. The initial film will be period-set as the first half will focus on Paradise Island and the warring factions of Amazonians contesting for the island's rightful jurisdiction. The sudden arrival of a stranger asking for help will further shake up the already tense atmosphere. The remaining half will have Wonder Woman accompanying the "man" back to his own world, which is set in the 1920s. The continuing outline will then be concerned with Word War II and capping the trilogy off with a modern day setting via a Justice League premise.
As what has also been earlier reported, Gadot's "Wonder Woman" brown leather-clad costume is a departure from the the much recognized red, blue and gold ensemble. The outfit, which was also popularized by American actress, Lynda Carter during her stint as the superheroine in the Wonder Woman TV series from 1975 to 1979.
The actress was also force to pass her role in the remake of "Ben-Hur" due to a very hectic schedule.
