The highly anticipated novel-based Fifty Shades of Grey film has been spotted just recently on several download sites almost Immediately after release. The pirated Fifty shades of Grey was already is reported to have been downloaded more than half a million times in just a week from various parts of the world.
To make the numbers more elaborate, more than a quarter of the downloads come from the United States, United Kingdom, India, and from the Philippines with 44896, 33839, 19298 and 16952, respectively. This just implies that Universal Pictures' erotic drama is a phenomenal sales record-breaker even to internet pirates who would like to make a profit out of it.
The pirated version of Fifty shades of Grey film is already out and being distributed illegally via torrent and file-sharing websites. However, downloaders would most likely get it in low quality, often referred to as “CamRIP”. A DVD quality version is expected to come out 3 to 4 months after the film was released.
In order to cut down the rapid increase of piracy, several entertainment websites have already banned the said film in some countries. This includes China, India, Malaysia, and Kenya.
As for the good news, one report says that online piracy has not affected the sales of the actual film. Actually, the movie already has a gross earnings of more than US$300,000 worldwide. Opening weekend earning in the U.S. was $85 million in US, while foreign Box Office has around $160 million.
Fifty Shades of Grey film was made by Universal Pictures and Focus Features. The movie was an adaptation of the bestselling book of the same title from E.L. James. It stars Jamie Dornan as a billionaire with unusual bedroom fantasies and Dakota Johnson as a college student who became helplesstrapped under his mesmerizing spell. The movie has hit the theaters last February 13, and became available online on Valentines day.
