Simultaneous Flash Sales of Xiaomi's Mi 4 64 GB Variant and its 16 GB Sibling Arrives in India Tomorrow

By

The registration for Xiaomi's flash sales for its mid-range flagship smartphone, the Mi 4, will culminate this midnight. By then registration must be made on Flipkart, the official channel partner of Xiaomi for selling its handsets, to have access for tomorrow's simultaneous flash sales of the Mi 4 64 GB model and the 14 GB version.

The Mi 4 16 GB version will be available at Rs 19,999 and the 64 GB variant at 23, 999. It will be the first time that the 64 GB variant will be up for grab in India via a flash sale, while it will be the third for the 16 GB model.

Xiaomi has yet to reveal how many units of the Mi4 variants will be available for tomorrow's flash sale. According to Flipkart, "it will limit orders to one phone per registered email ID per sale."

The first Mi 4 flash sale received approximately 350,000 registrations and sold out all the 25,000 available units in 15 seconds. The number of registrations for the first Mi 4 flash sale was confirmed by head of Xiaomi India Mani Kumar Jain via Tweeter. However, no confirmation has been made whether the handsets made available for the second Mi 4 flash sale were sold out or not.

However, the first and second Mi 4 flash sales were considered not as impressive compared to Xiaomi's previous flash sales for its preceding flagship smartphones. That is because the Mi 4 flash sales falied to set a five-minute sold out, which was the record shared by the Xiaomi Mi 3, Xiaomi Redmi 1S, Xiaomi Redmi Note, and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G flash sales.

The announcement of the upcoming flash sale for the Mi 4 64 GB variant could be one reason for such consumer response. Aside from the additional memory, though, there are no other differences between the two Mi 4 variants.

Early access is given to the select Flipkart 'first' subscribers as a part of Flipkart's exclusive first service subscribers. For the February 10 flash sale only 2,500 selected first subscribers were given early access passes in India to buy the Mi 4.

For a mid-range phone, Xiaomi Mi 4 is worth buyers' money despite negative feedback for lack of screen protection and outdated OS.
