Beach goers at Summerleaze Beach in Bude, Cornwall felt a little unsettled after seeing a photo shot on the beach showing a triangular object hovering along the clouds. Surprisingly, a man had moved forward and claimed ownership of the alleged UFO that caused much buzz.
The great nephew of the UFO's owner, Van Johnive, claimed that the flying conundrum was his great uncle's "remote-controlled seagull," which had a camera installed on it. He said that the pictures were captured before the "seagull" fell and crashed "upon landing on a cliff." Johnive also apologize for the confusion caused by his great uncle's toy. The story gained a few chuckles from the people in Bude. Some who heard of the "remote-controlled seagull" were also amused and even suggested that it should be used "outside food establishments to prevent patrons from being attacked."
However, UFO researchers would not accept the "remote-controlled seagull" explanation that easily. Cornwall UFO Research Group's David Gillham felt that there's so much more to the blurry pictures taken last Feb. 17 than just a "remote-controlled seagull."
Gillham said that since the photo was taken using a camera phone, it would be difficult to confirm the UFO's true form. He added that there seemed to be a bright light coming from the right side of the object. Apart from these analyses, Gillham said that Cornwall had been experience some paranormal activity for quite some time and that these bizarre occurrences usually happen "in waves."
The Feb. 17 incident was not the first time Gillham sighted the alleged "alien" aircraft. He admitted that when he first saw the UFO, he had been taking note of its appearance over the skies of Bude. Although at that time, many locals believed that it could be just some aircraft under the control of the RSAF or some Russian plane.
However, it would be interesting to note that the UFO was seen near a body of water much like the peculiar sightings along Lake Michigan a few years back; or perhaps being spotted near a vast plain, where a possible landing could be done. Many would even ask about the timing of someone claiming ownership of the UFO just to dispel brewing curiosity from the locals. These and more questions could be forming in the minds of observers. Maybe, the answers to those questions could be across the stars.
