Many people in the United States are still waiting for the arrival of Android 5.0 (Lollipop) on their mobile device. However, it seems that Android 5.1 and Android 5.2 update have started to roll out as well. The latest Android updates were reported to have come on several devices, which include the Nexus 5 Moto G, as well as on Android One.
Android 5.0 Lollipop is a major update that Google has released by far. The current release has a full visual overhaul as well as significant power-saving features. While some people are still getting used to the idea about Android Lollipop, the features of the new Android Lollipop update is just the tip of the iceberg.
Android 5.1 is said to be a minor update intended for low-end mobile devices, while Android 5.2 is thought to deliver the more and bigger updates. This gives mobile users the option to skip the 5.1 update and simply go directly with the latter version.
The bigger Android 5.2 Lollipop was first reported to be installed on a Nexus 5 and for benchmarking. The said device is equipped with a quad-core Qualcomm CPU clocked at 2.27GHz. The results of that test can be seen on primatelabs.com.
As for the updates' availability, Nexus 5 users will be among the firsts to get the latest Android update, while other devices would have the same update several days after. Since Android 5.2 update is just around the corner, mobile users would just have to skip the Android 5.1 update. Besides, features from the version 5.1 will be carried over to the latter one.
There are no further details on Android 5.2 yet. However, it is expected that it would bring major updates to many devices, including those mentioned above. Google would still have to announce its official release probably within this week or the week after. For now, Android 5.0 is still running only on <2% of all Android devices.
