Kanye West has rap song 'Gold Digger,' but definitely it not dedicated to his wife Kim Kardashian. In fact,the rapper-entrepreneur wittingly praised and clarified old issue about 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star in his pre-taped acceptance speech at the BET Honors where he received Visionary Award last January.
Aired only Monday, West's speech touched discrimination against African Americans, but also tickled issue that white women dated wealthy black men for money. He sampled Kardashian, who dated Ray J and married Kris Humphries, for this.
"I want to say that my wife has dated broke black dudes. So it ain't got nothing to do with the money," Kanye said.
The 37-year old fashion designer, who's incidentally in London for Thomas Tate fashion show when his speech relayed, shared Kim's story about her deceased father Rob Kardashian. West said that Kim's father experienced being tagged as "N***a Lover" for being a defense lawyer of O.J. Simpson in his murder trial in 1994.
"She never saw her father curse, get mad, he was the most laid back human being. And he went so crazy and tried to chase the people down," Kanye commented. "And she sat there crying saying, 'Dad, you're going so crazy?' And he said to her, 'one day you may have a black child...a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful black child...and it's gonna be hard. You're gonna see how hard it is.' So true enough, we deal with racism, because there are different races. Or the micro of it is that we focus on the different races, as opposed to the macro, which is the human race."
Recently, Kanye also defended his wife on Power 105.1's Breakfast Club radio show against his ex flame Amber Rose. Amber Rose started to tweet about Kim's sex tape and being whore after clashing with Khloe Kardashian about Tyga and Kylie's alleged relationship.
"She's just soakin' in the moment. If Kim had dated me when I first wanted to be with her, there wouldn't be an Amber Rose," the 'Mercy' rapper shared.
Meantime, Kanye is reportedly in talks for a concert with pop diva Rihanna. Vogue's report confirmed the said project which will take place in July 24 in Estonia. The mag also informed that Kanye is producing Barbadian singer's next album.
