It is more than safe to assume that that the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop update is coming next to top smartphone devices soon as it is now being tested in Google's budget phone Android One in Indonesia and the Philippines. Nexus devices is reported to receive the Android 5.1 Lollipop update as usual.

Maintenance Release (MR) for Google's Android 5.1 is expected to hit the latest Lollipop version, including Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 (2012 version), Nexus 7 (2013 version), Nexus 9, and Nexus 10. The update is available for the Google Play Edition handsets.

In a report, Google's 2014 flagship phones Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 is said to have the latest update first, while the rest of the Nexus line will follow.

Recently, HTC's Vice President for Production Management Mo Versi told an HTC One M7 GPE (Google Play Edition) user via microblogging site Twitter, who inquired about button lights bug fix that a new MR is coming out next month.

Mo Versi hinted in his response that Google is brewing a maintenance release update for Android coming up next. The tweet read: "It'll be tied to Google's next MR, which is in March."

In HTC's website, Mo Versi said in an update news for Lollipop roll out: "We've been working hard in the labs with Google and our carrier partners ever since the code release and are making great progress so far." The Taiwanese tech giant's executive admits that the new update will not bring too many new features but it is expected to come with bug fixes and improve overall performance.

After updating 5.1 Lollipop, Wi-Fi will allow users take a look at menu with the list of available networks. Likewise, tapping Bluetooth will allow users to view a menu with the list of available Bluetooth devices.

Reportedly, Android 5.1 Lollipop will rekindle the silent mode feature, and is expected to fix sudden crash issues. The update will also allow users to avoid the invert colors and Wi-Fi quick toggles. It is also expected enhance battery life and RAM management.
