It is not highly impossible that in the world of comic book to television adaptations, a major superhero can co-exist in one titular superheroe's or superheroine's (for that matter) tv series. With "Supergirl" on the go this year 2015, will the Man of Steel himself have a cameo appearance in the CBS TV pilot?
Such an assumption may be improbable at first but with this casting call emerging from a dedicated casting website, it just looks like the audiences will get a chance to see Kara's famous cousin on her TV show after all. To audition for a role on "Supergirl", check out the casting call details below:
"We are looking for BODY DOUBLE for a a#mce_temp_url# - You must be available for an interview this Thursday and if selected will work several day during March. This is for a CBS pilot. You can be SAG or Non-Union. You should be 5'11 or taller and be Square Jawed and have a ripped physique. You must send a body shot, shirtless, sizes, current contact info and your first five to XxX@XxX.com - in the subject line write SUPERMAN."
Just basing on specifics of the pre-production process for selecting a cast actor, it is quite likely that in Supergirl's universe people will have a cross-over, as most DC comics have a very decent run in their TV shows. In addition, writer and producer Greg Berlanti who is affiliated with the "Supergirl" pilot and is the head honcho of CW's "Arrow" and "The Flash" has always socialized his television storylines.
Meanwhile, Brandon Routh who played the Kryptonian in the 2006 "Superman Returns" is likely to play a televison version of that character as he has suit up to be The Atom also in The Flash only for Season 3.
Supergirl is expected to air this fall of 2015. It stars Melissa Benoist (Glee) as Kara Zor-El, Mehcad Brooks (Desperate Housewives) as Jimmy Olsen, Laura Benanti (Gypsy) as Alura Zor-El and Calista Flockhart (Ally McBeal) as Cary Grant.
