Promo materials of Nexus 6 under Verizon just hit stores and reveal price information and release date.
Mobile carrier Verizon added Google's Nexus 6 to its leading phablet (smartphone/tablet) lineup following Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge, and Apple's iPhone 6 Plus.
Accordingly, Nexus 6 will be released by Verizon on March 12 at $249 when signing a new two-year contract, or $29.16 per month with edge.
The top smartphone brand runs with Android 5.1 Lollipop. Verizon's model will feature the same specs with the other, including an impressive 6-inch QHD display, a 13 MP camera, aluminum chassis, dual front speakers, 3 GB RAM, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with a 2.7 GHz quad core CPU. The device boasts a 3,200 mAH battery from Project Volta, which can charge up the phone for six hours of use in just 15 minutes.
Nexus 6 also features Ambient Display, with almost similar function like that of Motorola's Moto X 2014's Moto Display. The feature incorporates infrared sensors that can detect fingers when hovered over the screen display and suggests actions to do.
Google noted that through Ambient Display the device wakes up as soon as picking it up or its screen tapped twice. With mode turned on, stand-by time reaches up to 250 hours, while the device can be used for up to 330 hours when turned off.
On top of that, there is an option to protect user's privacy by setting multiple account. By creating a guest account, a user can alter what applications or services to be made available for friends and family. Nexus 6 is also child-friendly since the device enables account for children and place allowed apps there.
Verizon Nexus 6 smartphone is the latest in the carrier's network after the 2011 Samsung-built Galaxy Nexus. It was the first smartphone to receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, Google's latest version at the time.
Nexus was not received well by users in the US when it came out first. However, Google assured them that timely updates will be done. Google's flagship phablet Nexus 6 had first been made available in T-Mobile, AT&T, US Cellular, and Sprint.
