The confirmed production of A9 CPU by Samsung Electronics for Apple Inc. has fuelled speculations for the release of iPhone 7 this year, just few months after the introduction of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus to the markets last September.
For now, it is certain that Apple is expected to release a new model soon, but analysts and Apple enthusiasts alike are unsure what to call the new model. Technically, the what-will-be iPhone 7 is not the 7th Smartphone by Apple but the eleventh and if they are to stick to their traditional phone nomenclature, iPhone 7 will most likely be called iPhone 6S, forecasts Macworld.
Here are a few roundup predictions for iPhone 7 or iPhone 6S.
Stick to Bigger Displays. Macworld gathered several international sources saying that iPhone is cooking for an iPhone mini and back to the old 4-inch displays. This was done in response to the negative global feedback of their bigger models. In fact, to date, iPhone 5 is still selling better than iPhone 6Plus.
However, in the same article, Macworld in their translation of a Chinese report details that Apple has not set new production tasks yet for a 4-inch display on their Chinese site.
"Supply chain sources said that Apple has not made any new production tasks iPhone 4 inches to parts of the supply chain, and therefore will be launched on 4-inch screen Apple iPhone 6s argument is not true - at least so far." as quoted and translated from the Chinese page.
3D Display. According to the same source, iPhone 6S or 7 is likely to have a 3D display. This rumor came into circulation after Economic Daily News claims that Apple was reported to be working closely with their supply chain, TPK on a project dubbed as "naked-eye 3D screens". This literally means having a 3D experience without putting glasses on.
Not Sapphire. The world is excited for the new iPhone model to be covered with one of earth's toughest glass - sapphire. However, insider reports from Experts Reviews reveal that there are a lot of complexities with incorporating this glass into an iPhone as the same were tried with the iPhone 6 production. "Sapphire glass was one of the things that we were hoping would make it into the iPhone 6. This incredibly tough material was said to make the glass front of the phone virtually indestructible. So where is it? It turns out that there are quite a few complexities to solve before we'll see such big panels."
