iOS 9 Releases 4 Months Earlier than Windows 10? Apple to Unveil iPhone 6s, Microsoft's Nokia Threatened

By

Apple could have a June launching of the iOS 9 at WWDC, four months earlier than Microsoft's speculated October launching of Windows 10.

In a leaked document, which was first revealed by myce.com, the polished preview build is set to arrive in between April and September. This means Windows 10 will be released later than second or third quarter of the year.

An October release date is thereby possible, as suggested by PC PRO, considering that Windows held the general release of its products in that month. From Windows 8.1 to Windows 8 down to Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP, all these had an October general release date. According to rumors, Windows 10 could have a June or July released to manufacturing date. Note that RTM is different from general release date.

All these information are based on speculations, however, and the same goes with Apple's iOS 9. The June launching is also based on Apple's release timeline for iOS. If Apple will stick to that pattern, the iOS 9 launching will be followed by the launching of the iPhone 6c/iPhone 6s/iPhone 7 in September.

According to MacWorld, iOS 9 will be launched alongside a new iPhone (or set of iPhones) which are compatible with the new OS. Soon after, a full launch of iPads will follow and these will also run on the new OS. Some devices are also expected to be dropped from the list in which the iOS 9 will run on.

The following are the list of Apple devices that Macworld predicts to be compatible with the iOS 9. Devices marked with asterisk are unconfirmed or may have different names with the actual device when launched.

Meanwhile, confirmed features of Windows 10 include Cortana, new Spartan browser, Continuum, Xbox integration, DirectX 12 and Windows Holographic. Microsoft also confirmed that it will be available for free for all Window 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 users for a year after launch.
