New Samsung Flagship Phones Aims to Outsell Other Competitors; Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Release Comes with a Curved Display

By

The long wait is finally over, as Samsung finally unveiled its two new flagship smartphones at the recent Mobile World Congress held in Spain. Obviously, the newly introduced Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge release give the Korean-based tech firm a new image.

The phones were only in rumors weeks prior to the MWC. Now that they are officially introduced, it seems that Samsung is indeed stepping its game up by doing away some of the features that made their previous flagship phone (Galaxy S5) a letdown. This includes the plastic chassis and the already generic smartphone design.

Newcomers to Dominate Other Phones

The Galaxy S6 phones have a metal build with front and rear Gorilla Glass 4 panels. Samsung is confident that the new build is better, and would be more appealing to the consumers than the Galaxy S5. Since the company has invested a lot on the latest premium materials to make its flagship phones happen, the newcomers are expected to outsell the other models on the market. They should be able to have an outstanding sales record on its first day once it goes out on store shelves.

Galaxy S6 vs Galaxy S6 Edge

As for the specifications of the newcomers, both models use the latest octacore Samsung Exynos processor, 3GB of RAM, 5.1-inch QHD Super AMOLED displays, Qi and PMA wireless charging support. They also have a preinstalled Android 5.0 Lollipop OS with a revitalized TouchWiz UI, less bloatware, and more simplified menus.

The only difference between the two is that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge release comes with a curved display panel that extends to both sides of the device. This gives it a sleek and distinct appearance compared to the Galaxy S5 and the standard Galaxy S6.

Public Availability

The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 edge release will be on store shelves on April 10. Both devices have 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage options as well as a variety of colors to choose from. Galaxy S6 will be available in White Peral, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum, Blue Topaz, while the S6 Edge will be available in Green Emerald only. Price tag on both models will be announced later.
