NCIS and NCIS LA Buzz: Office Romance Blossoms as Agents Hook Up in Washington and Los Angeles Headquarters

By

The clock is ticking and the climactic season finales of the highly-successful NCIS series and its equally applauded spin-off, NCIS Los Angeles are about to explode in your small screens! Both police procedural dramas have reportedly gained their respective followings worldwide due in no small part to their constantly evolving plot which has managed to keep audiences riveted to their seats for an hour.

The enduring NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service) began its 12th season with a big question mark hanging over its ability to go on for a 13th year. There is no doubt that the departure of well-loved cast member Cote de Pablo, who played Agent Ziva David after only two episodes in Season 11 left a big vacuum on the show. The subtle and not-so-subtle flirtation between Ziva and Agent Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) was a major audience getter for the better part of a decade! Fans even coined the term “Tiva” or Tony and Ziva.

However, any doubt about the shows ability to soldier on was extinguished when Season 12 opened with Senior Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs’s (Mark Harmon) helicopter getting shot down with a surface-air-missile while on an overseas assignment in Russia! Agent Gibbs not only manages to survive the crash but he also manages to commandeer a sniper rifle which he used to dispense with most (but not all) of the Russian mercenaries who were hot on their trail! The season’s first episode beautifully set the stage for Gibb’s mid-season final showdown with the leader of the Russian mercenaries who he initially failed to kill.

Still, the Tony-Ziva romance which, as it turned out was not meant to be, demonstrates that NCIS’ owes its longevity not only to big explosions and cleverly choreographed gunfight scenes. It is apparently the office romance angle that really tickles fans!

On that note, the International Business Times revealed that we will find Tony hooking up with someone who is not going away so easily. As a matter of fact, there is speculation whether or not Tony will introduce his new/old flame ATF agent Zoe Keates (Marisol Nichols) to his Dad, Anthony Sr. (Robert Wagner) sometime soon. Moreover, expect the long-distance relationship between Agent Tim McGee (Sean Murray) and CIA analyst Delilah (Margo Harshman) not to remain “long-distance” much longer!

Meanwhile, across the pond in Los Angeles, office romance is also the order of the day! When Season 6 of NCIS Los Angeles opened, it was assumed that Agents Kensi Blye (Daniella Ruah) and Detective Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) was very much an item already, but that they were trying to keep it under wraps. They were, of course failing miserably as everyone in their Boatshed headquarters already knew! Enstarz asks when will boss Henrietta “Hetty” Lange (Linda Hunt) finally uncover “Densi” (Deeks-Kensi)? The better question could be, will she send Kensi off to Afghanistan again when she finds out?
