A topless Justin Bieber is gracing the cover of the April issue of Men's Health magazine. The "Boyfriend" singer, who just turned 21 on March 1, Sunday told the magazine in an interview that it is time for him "to grow up" and embrace adulthood for real.
The pop star shared that he had trouble handling the pressures of fame while growing up in the public eye, People reported. "I had to grow up so quick," the Canadian singer said. "And it was almost like I grew up for the public but I didn't necessarily grow up. There were things I had to do, as far as the way I had to make relationships, and conversation, but as far as actually growing up, there were a lot of things I missed out on."
Following a very tumultuous year, the "Baby" hit-maker seems to be looking forward to putting his past behind. He acknowledged that this year "has really been a big year for me, as far as figuring stuff out." He felt that it is "almost like a full 180 from how I was. Yesterday - a year from yesterday - I was in jail."
Indeed, it seems Bieber considers 2015 as his year of reinvention. In recent months the pop singer has taken several public steps to restore his image. These include an emotional apology video on his Facebook as well as multiple appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where he admitted that he has done plenty of things he is "not proud of," according to E! News.
Yet despite all his candid thoughts on embracing adulthood, Bieber said there is a part of him "that I don't ever want to grow up." He is referring to "that sense of purity inside," which he claims he does not want to lose.
Bieber, who has shared an on-again, off-again relationship with Selena Gomez for years, revealed that he is "very much a relationship guy." "I like to bounce ideas off the person that I love. I like having a real connection."
Now whether he can continue a real, romantic connection with Gomez is something that media outlets and fans are yet to see. The 22-year-old "The Heart Wants What It Wants" singer is reportedly currently dating musician Zedd. Recently, the duo have worked on Zedd's single "I Want You To Know," which according to a report did not sit well with Bieber.
