Did Madonna just declared Kanye West as her "heir" to the title? While there's only one Material Girl, Madonna branded West as the "black Madonna," describing the award winning rapper as "a beautiful mess" and a "brilliant madman".
Madonna says she admires and respects West's musical genius, in fact , the Justify My Love singer has collaborated three tracks with West in her just released album "Rebel Heart." So, aside from collaborating songs, Madonna acknowledged that the deepest connection she and West have are their similar attitudes. Both Madonna and West know the power of sensational quotes, and neither is shy about voicing contrary views.
Madonna was all out in praising her Rebel Heart producer, saying both she and West have a knack in testing people's limits to see how far they can go. "We know, and recognize, that we have that in common. We're comrades in the envelope-pushing genre."
"He has to blurt things out - he's always saying inappropriate stuff. But he also has brilliant ideas, if you can get him to pay attention long enough, working with him in the studio. He would come and go. He would drive me bonkers, because he's got so many things going on in his life," said Madonna in an interview with Daily News.
The 56-year-old pop diva said that like West she liked to break some taboos or challenge something. Madonna said that she has created a career 'that has never stopped being challenging. "It's just that, now, I feel like I know more and I've seen more. I earned my stripes.'
Just like West's trademark, the pop icon is not a bit shy in revelling on her accomplishments. "I'm only human. I'd like to get to the point where nothing can shake me. Sometimes I'm there, sometimes I'm not. Bitch, I'm Madonna. And that's it."
