As Apple finishes off the first quarter of 2015 with a respectable performance in sales for iPhones, reports claim that the iPhone 6S could possibly be launched by August or September this year. Amid an overwhelming demand in the market worldwide, Apple is pushing further its goal to sell a record high of 58 to 66 million units for the iPhone line in March 2015.
UBS analysis reports that there is a rising popularity of iPhone in China while sales see rise of the high-end smartphone in 20 major markets across the globe. With 1.8 billion search results on Google, according to the analysis, it might translate to upsurge in actual sales.
A report, meanwhile, said that "around 20 percent of Samsung Galaxy owners had expressed interest on switching to the new iPhone 6S." A Chinese tech blog sites that mass productions for 2015 iPhones will commence in June.
In terms of features, Apple is reported to sport killer and smart specs and designs with ever-growing smartphone competition with Samsung, HTC and LG.
Famous tipster Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple has developed a technology to enhance security of Apple Pay. Apple Pay could possibly be integrated into the Touch ID fingerprint sensor. The mechanism can trace down gait, vocabulary and grammar, location data, and even magnetic fields. The Touch ID scanning technology is powered by KGI Securities.
Report also said that Global Foundries and strong rival Samsung Electronics won a major contract to produce the tech giant's A9 processors. Samsung and Foundries took over around 70 percent of the chip production due to their 14nm FinFET technology. A9 processors is expected to improve system compared to its predecessors. A8 had 50 percent graphics performance, and 50 percent more power efficient than A7.
Elsewhere, a leaked patent suggests that Apple is brewing a computer-generated headset and display. US Patent No. 8,957,835 named "Head-Mounted Display Apparatus for Retaining a Portable Electronic Device with Display" features a moveable electronic device which will enable users to wear it over the head. Screen size will stick on the previous 4.7-inch display with the same chassis and color variants.
In terms of edges, iPhone is expected to challenge Samsung's critically-acclaimed Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge with the almost removal of the bezel and the presence of touchscreen sides. Like Amazon's failed Fire Phone, Apple is rumored to push through with the 3D technology on the phone's display.
iPhone 6S is also reported to sport a wireless charging capacity. According to reports, the future development stemmed from the European Parliament's drafted bill that will oblige radio equipment makers to use common external power supply. The Power Matters Alliance (PMA), whose members include Samsung, Huawei, Toshiba, Qualcomm and Microsoft, is working to bring a universal wireless charging standard. For Apple to get ahead, they are expected to pre-empt the latest technology development.
A camera overhaul is also expected to hit the smartphone with a DLSR-quality camera set to replace the common True Tone flash technology. Reports also surfaced that a 20 MP back-faccing camera will replace the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus' 8 MP camera.
Meanwhile, Apple SIM feature will give future iPhone 6s users the ability to select a carrier on their own out of the box like that of iPad Air 2. In a word, iPhone 6s purchased directly from Apple would give owners the liberty to pick and choose plans at will.
However, mobile carriers are likely to cut support for the development unless the handset is purchased from a certain network then it will locked to that network.
Apple has not confirmed iPhone 6S' release date yet.
