Apple Watch was officially introduced last year together with the launch of iPhone 6 and 6 Plus; however, several key facts and features about this new smartwatch were still veiled. The recent Spring Forward finally answered all queries surrounding the device.
Apple Watch has two screen size versions; one in 1.5in (38mm) and 1.7 (42mm) and with 272x340 and 319x390 resolutions respectively. Unlike other Apple brands, Apple Watch runs on another version of iOS designed and fitted for the smartwatch. Navigation of the watch can be done through touch screen or through the handset's crown (akin to the mechanical wheel one sees on standard watches).
There are several ways on how to communicate with an Apple Watch. One classic method is thru Siri. To do so, users need to double tap the button located beneath the crown or to simply say, "Hey Siri". Moreover, the Apple Watch activates by the "Hey Siri" voice command. However, the use of "Hey Siri" drains battery faster, Apple made sure that this feature is only active if the watch is on its user's face.
Also, just like the iPad and iPhone, Apple Watch allows users to get to directions, get weather updates, search the internet and even respond to text message via voice prompt.
Apple CEO Tim Cook also reveals that the watch comes with a canopy of health and fitness features and sensors. Aside from measuring your heart rate, calories burned during the exercise and other body movements; Apple Watch can specifically set the user's personal fitness goals customized by the users themselves. In a more ambitious light, Apple attempted to include stress and oxygen levels of the user but admitted they encountered problems while testing on it.
Speculations swarm the internet specifically on the device's battery life and mention, Apple Watch lasts up to merely 2.5-3 hours of continued use. However, Apple CEO confirms that the watch is designed to last up to 18 hours.
Apple Watch prices range from $349 up to a whopping $17,000 largely dependent on the kind of metals the watch is made from. Users will also find a selection of straps for added design and functionality.
