Apple will finally commence working for iPhone 6S in the lab after months of speculations about its release and features, a Chinese tech site claims. iPhone 6S' predecessors iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have been breaking corporate records of Apple and the tech titan is reportedly in the course of prepping a new smartphone to beat its own record.
Reports also suggest that Apple might be releasing two iPhones this year owing to the ever-growing competition in smartphone showdown with strong rival Samsung Electronics and rising competitors LG and HTC. If these reports are true after all, iPhone 7 might be launched also before the year ends.
Kevin Kang, research director of the well-known market analysis firm in China HIS Technology, claimed to the Chinese tech site last week that "the mass production of both devices will start in June" this year with more than 230 million devices.
Given the date, iPhone 6S and iPhone 7 will most likely be out in stores by late summer or early fall. Despite different reports already coming out regarding the release, Apple remains silent until now, leaving tech geeks and reports in speculation.
iPhone 6S is expected to be powered by Apple's latest A9 processor, the tech firm's first device to receive the chip. From the predecessors 1 GB of RAM, Apple is also reported to ramp it up to 2 GB. Samsung and Global Foundries both won a major contract from Apple to manufacture 70 percent of its 14nm A9 processor chips with their FinFET technology. A9 processor will enhance its graphics performance and power efficiency, 50 percent better than A8 and A7.
A camera overhaul is also expected as the phone will wear a 20 MP back-facing lens with a DLSR-quality result set to replace the common True Tone flash technology.
A 3D touch technology is also expected to support the device's reported 3D pressure sensor powered with Force Touch technology. Force Touch has been incorporated in iWatch primarily to distinguish a tap and a press. Tech experts deem this a sporting chance for Apple to win more consumers since users will be given a wide variety of gestures, which is believed to enhance the iPhone experience.
