Spring Forward did not only surprise the world with Apple Watch and all its excellent new features but it also awed everyone with the gorgeous 12-inch Retina MacBook, not Air.

Slick, Slimmer and Lighter.

This new 12-inch MacBook has the same unibody design with Apple MacBook Air 11-inch released last year, however it is considerably slimmer; its thickest point is just at 0.51 inches compared to its predecessor at 0.68 inches. The 12-inch MacBook is also lighter weighing only 2lbs; that is roughly 5 ounces lighter than the former. Furthermore, just like most cutting-edge laptops to date, the new 12-inch Retina MacBook follows the fan-less design unlike most MacBooks which have fans hidden on its vents.

Stunning Retina Screen

A lot are surely mesmerized by the new MacBook and many agree that the most revolutionary about the 12-inch laptop is the screen. This 2-inch and 0.04-inch screen MacBook boasts a 2304x1400-pixel resolution. This is far cry from last year's 11-inch MacBook which hosts only a 1366x768 resolution. On the other hand, Apple is firm to stick to non-touchscreen system for reasons and advantages they have not elaborated.

New Keyboard Design for Easier Use

Much attention is also given to the overhaul of the keyboard and trackpad. Keys are re-designed and placed at different places than the previous MacBook. Previous keyboard designs and placements dubbed as scissor-switch is now replaced by butterfly mechanism. This novel mechanism allows for a higher stability and distributes force on the keyboard uniformly. Keys are replaced to stainless which were formerly silicone. This change is designed to give the MacBook user a better grip while typing.

Moreover, the new trackpad houses Apple's Force Touch. This feature uses four, counter-mounted pressure-sensitive force sensors. Force Touch therefore allows a consistent click across the entire trackpad. Also, the trackpad has the Force Click design which records deeper click for the same pressure compared to regular MacBook. However, these trackpad renovations may appeal less to the public for their functionality has not been tested by the wide variety of Apple MacBook users.

Lastly, 2-inch Retina MacBook has Intel Core M (1.1GHz) processor, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of flash storage for a starting price of $1,299; and will be made available on April 10.
