Kristen Stewart's acting career has nowhere to go but up at this point. After making acting history at the latest Cesar awards as the first American actress to receive an honor in 30 years (Stewart won best supporting actress for her performance in Cloud of Sils Maria), she has reportedly signed on to appear in legendary actor-director Woody Allen's next film as one of the leads. There are no details as of yet as to what the film's title is or what the plot is going to be, but the fact that it is going to be directed by Woody Allen is enough for the movie to generate such buzz.
Everybody remembers how Kristen Stewart received so much criticism (and perhaps even hate) after her performances in the Twilight series of films as Bella Swan. Critics have often lambasted her for lacking expression in her acting, which is one of the most defining characteristics of a talented actor or actress. Her stellar performances in films such as 'Camp X-Ray,' 'Still Alice' and 'Clouds of Sils Maria', however, may be the start of something new for Kristen - and being cast in Woody Allen's next film will further solidify her as a high-calibre actress.
Aside from Stewart, it was also reported that actors Jesse Eisenberg and Bruce Willis has been cast and will join the award-winning actress in the leading roles. With such fine actors and an even finer director at the helm, we can only but expect this to be another film that would be worthy of an Oscar nomination, and we may even get to see Stewart among the list of best actress nominations next year.
Allen's latest movie titled "Irrational Man" will star Emma Stone and Joaquin Phoenix, and will be released in theaters on July 24, 2015.
