Just over a week after Samsung took the tech community by storm with its new flagship smartphones Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge for its groundbreaking designs, the South Korean tech titan is now in the hot seat following test run found out that both devices have problems with touch sensitivity.
A South Korean website (via Google Translate) revealed in a video recently that portions of the displays beside the bezels of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge devices lack sensitivity to register touch input. The issue is more noticeable with the S6 because a larger section of the display seems problematic compared to the S6 Edge.
Tech experts believe that the problem is unfixable by any software update since it impacts the build of the phone. Expectedly, this will affect the release of both devices when not given the due remedy. Samsung, however, has not officially spoken of the matter. What the company can do for now is to fix the hardware before it hits stores.
Meanwhile, a tech site previously said the Galaxy S6 sports the "best display in the world" whose only competition in the market is Samsung's own specie Galaxy Note 4.
Galaxy S6 sports a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD display display with 577 ppi screen resolution, which tech experts believed brings perfect contrasts, brightness and great viewing angles. Its screens are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4, and are powered by an Exynos 7420 processor, run on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
News lately reported that Samsung has received over 20 million pre-orders for the new Galaxy smartphones from mobile carriers across the globe-15 million units of Galaxy S6 and five million units of Galaxy S6 Edge. Samsung Electronics CEO Jong-kyun Shin previously admitted to reporters at the MWC that "pre-orders of the two Galaxy variants from our major clients are really huge," adding that he had no doubt that S6 will perform better than S5.
The Netherlands is the first country to get orders of Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. The entry-level 32 GB S6 will run to 700 euros, while the S6 Edge will run to 850 euros, both without a contract. Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge was launched on March 1 in Barcelona during the first day of MWC 2015.
