Samsung Electronics is never short on explosive offering to its followers as the tech titan is reportedly working a new Galaxy smartphone in the lab, a waterproof device called Galaxy S6 Active.

According to a tech news site's inside sources, Galaxy S6 Active with model number SM-G890A will sport the almost the same specifications with the recently launched Galaxy S6. Samsung's next smartphone will have 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED+ display. It will be powered by Exynos 7420 SoC with 3 gigabyte of RAM, 32 gigabyte of internal storage, 5 megapixel front-facing camera, and 16 megapixel back-facing camera.

The same source noted that dimensions and battery size will change for the Galaxy S6 Active with 73.6 x 146.9 x 8.8 mm and 3500mAh, respectively. Galaxy S6 has 70.5 x 143.4 x 6.8 mm. The new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge both do not have waterproof design, while its predecessor Galaxy S5 and some other Samsung devices have been made water-resistant.

An import/export tracking website also spotted that a water and dust resistant device is coming up for Samsung. A total of 20 Galaxy S6 Active handsets were reportedly shipped from South Korea to India for the testing. In this information, though, the upcoming waterproof device will have a 5.5-inch display with QHD 2560 x 1440 screen resolution.

However, the waterproof Galaxy S6 Active will first show up on AT&T networks with no news if other major mobile carriers will have it early too. Meanwhile, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are now facing hardware issues just more than a week after Samsung took the tech community by storm with its new flagship smartphones for its groundbreaking designs.

A South Korean website (via Google Translate) revealed a video recently that portions of the displays beside the bezels of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge devices lack sensitivity to register touch input. The issue is more noticeable with the S6 because a larger section of the display seems problematic compared to the S6 Edge.

The galaxy S6 Edge had been proclaimed the best device at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 in Barcelona last week.
