John Cena turned a new leaf by being more kids-friendly. But, not everyone seemed to like the character change. During his early years in WWE, Cena's personality was a thug with a lot of attitude. He raps and wears a a chain-link necklace with a padlock.

At that time, more children were becoming interested in wrestling and watching the show. "I looked around and saw who was sitting in the audience and said, 'You know what, I proactively need to change.' And it was for the greater good," he says in an interview with USA Today.

Now, kids consider him as a hero and a champion of "hustle, loyalty and respect." However, not everybody is happy with Cena's change of persona because a lot of older male fans booing the wrestling superstar.

"I totally get it," he says. "I don't necessarily spend my time watching programs that 6- to 10-year-old kids enjoy, so I get the need for different racy comedy and story lines. But at the same time I don't want to offend anyone in our audience so I do what I do to the best of my ability, and I actually really enjoy being able to be a real-life superhero and an aspirational character both in live entertainment and animation films like Flintstones," said Cena.

The interview was part of the promotion for The Flintstones and WWE: Stone Age SmackDown!" film, a collaboration between WWE and "Flintstones." Cena voiced John Cenastone, Fred's co-workers at the quarry.
