Oracle JPK 8 Update: Improved Memory Handling, Trash Management

Oracle had announced its Java Development Kit 8 (JDK) Update 40 which includes a fancy number of enhancements that would make the Java Developers and Users pleased. The Oracle JDK 8 was announced on March 3 of this year.

With the latest release from Oracle, the JDK 8 will bring improvements in Java performance, scalability and administration. This would make the Java Developers innovate faster in an easier manner. They would also be able improve application services better as well. The new Java Development Kit 8 also provides new updates to JavaFX UI framework for accessibility and OS X compatibility according to eWeek.

According to Oracle via eWeek, Java is being used across the board for most types of uses. And Java is committed to working with key partners to update their product to the trends of this generation and to upgrade their system to develop innovative ideas to the Java Platform. The JDK 8 update also fixes some minor bugs.

The Java Development Kit 8 also brings with it an upgraded version of the Garbage First (G1) garbage collector. The upgraded version will run on a lesser time interval which would in turn lessen the lag time or the pauses whenever the system frees its memory.

The memory pressure is also a novelty to the JDK 8. The memory pressure would go up as the system start to run out of resources. This is according to The Register.

The Java Development Kit 8 also carries with it multiple optimizations for Project Nashorn. This feature is introduced with the Java 8 to allow developers to mix Java codes with Java Scripts both of which runs with the JDK 8. This development would certainly make the processes of the Nashorn faster and more efficient.

The JDK 8 is available for update through the Java auto-update mechanism or through download from the Oracle's website.
