Nexus 5, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Grand 2, Motorola Moto G, Moto X and Moto E, HTC One M7 and Desire Eye Android 5.0.2 Lollipop Rollout Guide

With the series of glitches reported by Android phone owners with Android 5.0 Lollipop, Android 5.0.2 has been made available to some devices in select regions around the world to improve system stability and fix bug issues. Android 5.0.2 Lollipop rollout hits first-generation Moto G, second-generation Moto E, first-generation Moto X, HTC One M7, HTC Desire EYE, and Google Nexus 5.

Motorola Moto G 2013 users in United Kingdom has officially received the update earlier today. The first-generation Moto G smartphone currently runs the KitKat version.

With Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update, Moto G comes in with new Smart Lock, Material Design UI, Android Runtime (ART) full support that replaces the old Dalvik virtual machine, better Wi-Fi connections, Intelligent Notifications ranking, Priority Mode, lock screen actionable notifications, Device Sharing functions, improved Security, new Quick Settings toggles and more.

If automatic update notification does not appear, manually check the update by going to Settings > About phone > System updates > Check for update. Follow onscreen instructions afterwards.

Motorola Mote E 3G edition has just arrived in India with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop operating system. The smartphone sports a 4.5-inch Corning Gorilla Glass 3 display with 540 x 960 pixels. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 CPU and 2,390 mAh battery.

Soak test of the second edition of Moto E has also been conducted in Brazil two weeks before it arrived in India. When update notification comes up, select "Yes, I'm in" option > Install now. If automatic download is not available, manually check the update by going to Settings > About phone > System update. First generation first-generation Moto X and second-generation Moto G will also receive the update soon.

Galaxy Grand 2 is among the lucky mid-range phones of Samsung to receive Android 5.0.2 via unofficial CyanogenMod 12 ROM. XDA developers assures the unofficial update is highly stable and fully functional, except for the incoming voice feature on the second SIM and FM Radio audio.

Some of its features include disabled SELinux , updated music player, gallery and default calendar, new default wallpaper and boot animation and Whisherpush (sms encryption). Galaxy Note 3 also received the same update.

To update using CyanogenMod, download CyanogenMod 12 Android 5.0.2 ROM > Connect phone's USB mass storage on computer with USB cable > Copy the downloaded CM12 ROM zip file to the root folder on the phone's SD card > Power off the phone and disconnect its USB cable from computer > Boot the device into Recovery Mode by pressing and holding Volume Up, Home and Power buttons together > Perform Wipe Cache Partition> Perform Wipe Dalvik Cache > Go to main recovery menu and install Zip from SD card > Choose Zip.

HTC One M7 brings an opportunity to experience Android 5.0.2 Lollipop through Insert Coin 6.0.5 in Europe. Perks of the firmware include updated base to 7.19.401.2, improved Sprint support, enabled Ambient Display, and added ATT and TMO US support.

Another HTC smartphone to experience Android 5.0.2 is the Desire EYE. This is the first Android update of Desire. HTC has not officially provided details for the update, HTC ROM developer LlabTooFeR says it will skip the 5.0.1 update. Android 5.0.2 brings in brand new Sense 7 user-interface.

Google's Nexus 5 smartphone with codename Hammerhead also received the update. The update brings in performance enhancements and lots of shortcuts for easy access to favorite apps.
