‘Longmire’ Season 4 Spoilers, Update: Lou Diamond Phillips says filming in 2 weeks; New cast recruits, characters expected

It feels like a long time since we have not heard any news from the much anticipated 'Longmire' Season 4. But it appears that the show is unstoppable for its comeback, as the filming will start in a couple of weeks. And, the casting call for the tv show was set last Tuesday.

Thanks to Netflix who generously picked up 'Longmire' Season 4 to revive, after it was cancelled by A&E. Producers and writers are now doing their best to produce the best season yet, considering the limitless options they have with Netflix.

It was previously reported that Tony Tost, who takes pleasure in teasing fans with his writer's room tweets, has said that the series will go on production in late March.

"#Longmire production for S4 kicks in late March. We're deep into the writing. It's already my favorite season. So much history now in play." - Tony Tost (@tonytost) March 4, 2015

The news was later confirmed by actor Lou Diamond Phillips who said that filming for the next season will begin in two weeks.

"@KawaneeHamilton Netflix. We start filming Longmire S4 in two weeks." - Lou Diamond Phillips (@LouDPhillips) March 9, 2015

'Longmire' was scheduled for an opening casting call last Tuesday, along with 'Shot Callers' and 'Hell Bent'. It was reported that the call was looking for African American, Asian American, Native American, and Caucasian men and women between the ages of 18 to 99.

The wide array of people requested for production implies that there will be a lot of public scenes to expect in the show. Perhaps the extras will be used for big town events or simply just in the background during one of the local trips made by Walt (Robert Taylor) and his team.

The extras are also required for production for the first week in April, which suggests that these large-scale scenes will be shown early on in the premiere.

With a longer running time and the elimination of censorship, viewers can also expect a few changes as the show settles into its new home.

Longmire will likely return for a fourth season on Netflix during the later half of 2015.
