This April 4, Starz will bring back the much anticipated midseason sequel of the hit TV series, Outlander. While the first half shows Claire's struggles to find her way out 1743 and reconcile within her husband; episodes 9-13 see a Claire ready to face her new life in a novel land together with Jamie.
In the latest series teaser, Jamie narrates a familiar scene from the premier season episode; but significantly, the midseason trailer moves from the peaceful hills to Claire and Jamie's smouldering and passionate kisses and embraces between Jamie and Claire. However, good things do not last long for the two couple. The teaser soon shows a petrified Claire and Jamie's face at the tip of gun barrel.
Basically, Outlander, aside from the grand love affair between the two main protagonists, offers a whole new world for aficionados of historical series. It tells the story of a WWII nurse, Claire Randall who travels to a relaxing vacation in Scotland and encounters ancient stones that allows her to travel back in 1743. That starts a journey into stories of impenitent bed scenes Claire and the younger Jaime share.
Episodes 9-13 are based on the second 8-book of the anthology of Diana Gabaldon, Dragonfly in Amber. Gabaldon is also the series' consultant hence the story is sure to closely reflect as written in the book, although changes to surprise the fans are inevitable.
Episode 8 leaves the fans eager to know how Jamie rescues Claire from Jack. The next episode, forecasts SpoilerTV centers on the rescue attempt where Jamie arrives just in time before Jack rapes Claire. Infuriated by it, Jack points a pistol at her and holds her hostage. Episode 10 shows Jamie seeks the help of the Duke of Sandringham as he endeavours to remove the price on his. In Episode 11, Claire learns about Geilli's past that may help her resolve her own questions. The mysterious group, the Watch is introduced though less is revealed about them.
Starz still has eight years to work on Outlander and the company's CEO Chris Albrecht announces that they will maintain the show for as long as everyone is enjoying. Also, the creators of Outlander admit the stiff competition they have with other networks, nonetheless they vow to create the best adaptation from Gabaldon's book in order to please fans and critics alike.
Outlander returns on Saturday, April 4 on Starz.
