After Huawei being reported to be Google's next partner to manufacture its new flagship smartphone 2015 Nexus, varying reports now have surfaced that the budget next-generation Nexus device will have impressive features only high-end brands in the market possess.
The upcoming 2015 Nexus smartphone gets a surprising break from Qualcomm as the phone might have a Kirin processor. Kirin 930 chips is the latest processor Huawei used in its MediaPad X2 tablet. According to a Chinese website (via Google Translate), the new processor chip is built on a 16nm process, smaller than Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chip. Like the Snapdragon 810 chip, Kirin 930 is also a 64-bit octa-core processor and offers a powerful performance. The Kirin 930 CPU is pegged at 2.0 GHz and supports up to 32 megapixel camera.
In another report, 2015 Nexus will boast a Snapdragon 805 chipset with 2.7 GHz quad-core CPU. It will run in Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and 3,200 mAH battery powered by Project Volta. This kind charges the phone for up to six hours of use in just 15 minutes.
The 2015 Nexus will sport a massive 6-inch Quad HD display, dual front-facing speakers, a13 megapixel back-facing camera, 3 GB of RAM and an aluminum chassis.
Word in the rumor mill pointed out multiple manufacturers who had been in talks with Google for the next Nexus smartphone. However, Kevin Yang of a Chinese research firm iSuppli revealed on social media Weibo that Google has chosen Huawei to create the next Nexus smartphones.
Huawei's CEO Richard Yu, meanwhile, expressed in interview with a news website of his company's intent to increase its prominence in the U.S. market this year. Analysts believed that Google is a perfect partner to live out the CEO's vision for the Chinese tech giant.
Google's 2014 Nexus 6 was made by now Lenovo-owned Motorola, while both Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 were made by LG.
In October 2015, Google launched three Nexus devices-the Nexus 6 smartphone, the bigger Nexus 9 tablet and the Nexus Player. Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 handsets are considered two of the best Nexus devices. Nexus 6 is the most expensive among all Nexus devices to date.
The 2015 Nexus will likely launch in late 2015.
