Motorola releases a novel version of their budget Smartphone, less than a year after the original Moto E came into circulation in the market. Photos of the new product show significant tweaks on its design and an upgrade to 4G connectivity as well. It is also more expensive by £20 from its predecessor, according to a source from UK and it further foresees that Moto will be in a stiff competition with other budget phone brands.
Here are several key features of Moto E:
Hardware, Operating System, Battery. Moto E upgrades from Snapdragon 200 to a dual-core 1.2GHz which tells much about the price bump. Also, as mentioned, the new Moto E comes with the 4G connectivity which is rare for phones at this price bracket. Moto E 2015 designers also boast that battery life lasts 20% longer than the previous one with its 2,390mAh capacity. It lasts for the entire day with mixed used and goes as far as several days when on standby. It also comes with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage with microSD support and lastly, Moto E's operating system receives an upgrade to Android Lollipop 5.0.2.
Display and Screen. It is spectacular to observe that without significantly increasing the device's dimensions; the Moto E's screen is bigger by 0.2 inches. However, despite a bigger screen, like the old model, Moto E maintains a 960x540p resolution.
Camera. The camera of the new Moto E 2015 is perhaps this models biggest turn off. Similar to its forerunner, the new model maintains a 5-megapixel camera without a flash. This only amounts to the same thing - pictures that may not be clear enough. And again, it can be said that this issue can be Moto E 2015's biggest hurdle as it competes against cheaper smartphones.
Last week, Sprint and Verizon offered Moto E 2015 for $99.00.
