The steamy kissing and hardcore bed scenes between the two main casts of Outlander have fans asking if the romance goes off screen. Also, Caitriona Balfe reveals in an exclusive interview more about Sam, the changes in her character for the Midseason episodes and the preparation she has for the much anticipated installment of Starz' Outlander.
In an interview by Channel Guide Magazine, Sam Heughan who plays Jaime Fraser was asked to spill the beans on his off screen relationship with Caitriona Balfe but can only express his absolute admiration to his Outlander co-star.
"She's just a lovely human being. She's a lot of fun. We hang out when we're there, and we hang out when we're in Los Angeles, as well. We went on a hike a few weeks ago. Yeah, it's great. I'm very lucky. She's a friend." Sam reveals.
Sam also admits the anxiousness he felt right after filming the first half of the season. He says it took up until Christmas; the holiday helped him recover in full gear and is now fully "recharged" for the midseason.
On the other hand, Balfe was made to comment on Claire's particularly highlighting on her character being feisty to the verge of being stubborn. Channel Guide Magazine asks if there will be a point where she starts listening to Jaime as his husband and Balfe readily responds "No. Never".
Balfe's answer gives insights as to what fans should expect for the Midseason and it looks like the Outlander Executive Producer Ronald Moore was not joking when he said, that the midseason is going to be "dark". He further adds that "the show becomes more complicated and the emotional journey more wrenching..." The second half of the season, at the perspective of the heroine, Claire, is the time where both she and Jaime face traumas and experience they never imagined would have happened. However, the love that ties them remains constant which is the series' and the books' main theme.
Also, Balfe further reveals her excitement as she starts French lessons for the series.
