Dying Light Patch 1.5 Release: Free Content, Hard Mode, Dune Buggies, Time Trial Mode, And More

Dying Light Patch 1.5 will be available in Europe starting tomorrow. The new DLC pack comes with Hard Mode, with Dune Buggies, Time Trial Mode, and many more features coming up next.

Dying Light's developer Techland announced the release of the survival horror game last week making it available first in the U.S. on March 10. The latest patch brings the hard mode to PC version that offers over 50 new weapons and four new player outfits as a reward for finishing the story campaign.

On top of that, the Polish developer features varying twists and improvements to gameplay experience in overall system. A new option enabling zombie quest when the co-op is disabled and visual improvements in world and character art have also been added.

Other features also include added national outfits and new weaponry rarity level with extremely rare Gold weapons. Gameplay adds various balance tweaks of weapons, loot chests, shops and crafting, various improvements to game quests and improvements in natural movement flow.

For Linux, here are specific improvements:

  • Added AMD Radeon support (Please note - the NPC dialogue lip-sync will be enabled in a future patch)
  • Improved performance significantly
  • Fixed glitch when changing resolution
  • Improved mouse scroll speed in map menu
  • Disabled SSAO and AA options (TBD)
  • Fixed minor rendering issues
  • Fixed screenshots capturing
  • Fixed crashed related to audio driver

Techland also teased of what will come up in the future. Paul Milewski said the firm is constantly working on improvements for the game, including the gameplay balance and matchmaking in the zombie mode.

In a Youtube video of Ethan Shapiro, Techland is working a bow and arrow weapon. Dune Buggies and Time Trial Mode will be available soon.

Free content packs will also be available soon. It will include high difficulty level, new character costumes and more.

Dying Light is a game about an undercover mission of a detective sent to a zombie-infested zone in a night and day cycle and dynamic weather system. It brings players with crafting abilities with more than 100 weapons that can be manufactured. Multiplayer mode features up to four players.

Dying Light was first released on January 27 for PC, Linux, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
