Finding Neverland musical is set for its first preview on Sunday, March 15, 2015. Actor Kelsey Grammer fears his new broadway show will be a disaster because of an on-set accident and a failed costume change.
The curtain is due to go up for the first time on the musical at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre this weekend. According to BWW, the musical is based on the Academy Award-winning Miramax motion picture by David Magee, and the play The Man Who Was Peter Pan by Allan Knee. The Finding Neverland follows the relationship between playwright J. M. Barrie and the family that inspired Peter Pan, or The Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up, which is one of all time favorite stories.
While the upcoming preview is unstoppable, Grammer has already gave some warning to audience that they should prepare for some 'hicupps' as they are not quite ready knowing that they still have number of flaws to work out.
In an interview with David Letterman on Wednesday, he explained, "We were standing on the stage rehearsing (today) and I realised we hadn't done that scene for about 10 days, so I thought, 'We're probably in trouble on Sunday', 'cause I didn't remember anything I was meant to say...!"
"The New York audience is great, you know, the Broadway gang, because they know accidents are bound to happen (in previews). We've had a couple - one girl got knocked out by a harpoon the other day."
He went on to say, "I've got one costume change at the beginning of the show that hasn't gone right yet. I'm about 30 seconds behind so I'm not sure what's gonna happen."
However, Grammer is pretty confident when the show officially launches on 15 April (15), theatre-goers will surely love it.
"It's a very, very complex show. Finding Neverland is gonna be a great show. A lot of people are gonna just fall in love with this and it's gonna run for 25, 30 years. I've honestly been telling people if they don't see it, they will regret it," he said.
Theatermania revealed the Finding Neverland musical cast, which includes Matthew Morrison who leads the cast as Barrie. Laura Michelle Kelly as Llewelyn Davies, and Grammer as Charles Frohman/Captain Hook.
