Online co-op set to become available for Raid Mode in 'Resident Evil Revelations 2'

"Resident Evil Revelations 2" is getting a new addition in the form of online co-op for Raid Mode, according to IGN.

The latest update for the game will become available starting March 31. It will be available for download across all platforms supporting the video game.

Capcom also announced that the latest addition to the game will come free of charge. Raid Mode enables players to revisit old environments spanning the entirety of all the game's episodes.

In Raid Mode, players eliminate hordes of monsters coming in different shapes and sizes. It is similar to another additional element available in some of the franchise's earlier titles, known as Mercenaries Mode.

The biggest difference is the introduction of more randomized elements in Raid Mode to keep players on their heels, according to Gamesradar. Raid Mode also allows gamers to unlock new content within the game in the form of new weapons and bullets.

The game, thus far, only provides players with the option of split-screen co-op for Raid Mode.

Originally, even the split-screen co-op version of Raid Mode was available only to console versions of the game. A beta patch was later released for the PC version of the game to address the issue, according to Game Watcher.

The gaming company initially said online co-op for Raid Mode would not be available until all of the game's episodes were made available on disc this March, according to Eurogamer.

Three of the game's four episodes are already available on the Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and the PC.

The last of the game's four episodes will be launched on March 18, Hardcore Gamer reported.

The fourth episode is also expected to add to new elements to Raid Mode as it is downloaded by players. Content in the form of new outfits for Barry and Claire will also be accessible once the fourth and final episode is launched.
