Addams Family and Starship Troopers-inspired tables now available on 'Pinball Arcade'

New Addams Family and Starship Troopers themed tables are now available to play in "Pinball Arcade", according to Mike Lindsey of FarSight Studios via the official Playstation blog site. Two other tables named "Earthshaker" and "Party Zone" are also slated to be launched for the game's Playstation 4 version.

The latest batch of releases from the gaming studio brings the total of tables available for the game up to 56.

The original Addams Family pinball table made by Midway back in the 90s eventually became the best-selling pinball machine in history, according to Wired. The table, originally released in 1992, introduced elements such as the optical target bank and flippers which could be controlled by the CPU. Magnets also factored into the movement of the ball as it navigated the table.

"Thanks to our amazing Kickstarter backers, we were able to raise the funds needed to secure the licenses to digitise this amazing piece of Americana," said Lindsey. The Starship Troopers table, released in Janurary, is an adaptation of the sci-fi classic directed by Paul Verhoeven, according to Hardcore Gamer.

The table features numerous modes utilizing multiple balls to encourage more action during play. The table also has a moving bug target. The original Starship Troopers table was released back in 1997.

Inspired by the frequent earthquakes which have become a part of life for people living in California, the "Earthshaker" table seeks to replicate the sensation with its built-in motor. The motor shakes the entire table whenever an earthquake is triggered by the player.

The final table, named "Party Zone" is a remake of the 1991 original created by Dennis Nordman. The table includes features such as Request Time. This feature allows the player to choose from different songs the table can play using the flippers.

Plans for new tables have not yet been announced by FarSight Studios.
