'The Walking Dead' creator hooked on 'Destiny'

Apart from thinking up ways to spice up the popular zombie-infested storylines of "The Walking Dead" as well as developing characters in both "Outcast" and "Invincible," Robert Kirkman also finds time to pursue another interest of his - gaming.

Kirkman terms himself as a reluctant gamer, but not because he may find them boring. Kirkman said he is reluctant to become a full-fledged gamer knowing just how much of a drain the hobby could be on his time, according to Polygon.

"I do try to limit my gameplay extremely to make sure I don't get too invested in it. I have the self control not to lose my self control," said Kirkman.

Despite the self-imposed limitations Kirkman has imposed on himself to avoid being addicted to gaming, he has still found himself falling in love with the game "Destiny."

During his time at South by Southwest, Kirkman gave people a little bit of insight into how far along he is playing the game, saying he currently has a level 5 character in possession of an icebreaker gun, according to Indiewire.

Kirkman said he chose to play "Destiny" more than other games because of his son. He said his son previously played "Halo" and with "Destiny" coming from the same people who made the former title, he figured his son would also grow fond of the game.

Apart from "Destiny," Kirkman also said he is interested in other games, according to Yahoo.

"I play 'Super Mario 3D World' on the Wii U. I almost have all of the gold stars for the game," said Kirkman.

He also has other titles in his collection, including "Alien: Isolation," "Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor," and "The Last of Us," though he said he has not found any time to play any of these games.

Kirkman is currently in the creation of a companion series for "The Walking Dead."
