The online co-op "Raid Mode" of Resident Evil Revelations 2 will go live later this month. Capcom told fans, through Eurogamer that the online co-op raid mode be available on March 31. The legendary game developer stated that the online Raid mode will not be released until all four game episodes of Revelations 2 goes live.
The Raid mode is one of the interesting features of Revelations 2, which is similar to the Mercenary mode of previous Resident Evil installments. It lets gamers go on a monster-killing madness as they revisit previously completed levels, destroying all enemies and have a trigger-happy good time. However, unlike the famous Mercenary mode, raid mode has more random elements giving a whole new depth to the experience. The raid mode is one of the favoured gameplays in Revelations 2 as it satisfies trigger-happy gamers bent on blasting every undead fiend to smithereens.
Capcom also told fans that Raid mode gives gamers the chance to play 15 different characters, a satisfying number of enemies to drop and more character skills to unlock. Completing raid mode also unlocks bonuses such as new weapons, game points and various secret items.
The Resident Evil franchise is one of Capcom's crown jewels, spanning through all Playstation consoles starting from PSX. It started the survival-horror games and completely set the standards on how the genre should be. With 25 titles, Resident Evil is now considered one of the most influential game franchises of all time.
Resident Evil Revelations 2 garnered praise from gaming critics such as IGN, which commends the latest episode's clever puzzles, fleshed out characters and a "very curious cliff-hanger." IGN further approves by telling readers that the Revelations 2 episodes is a "worthy investment." Because of the positive comments, gamers looking forward to the release of the online co-op Raid mode are surely not wasting their time.
Excited fans can now play the episode 4 "judgement" of Revelations 2, which goes live this week signalling the imminent arrival of Raid mode online co-op later this month.
