Eight years seem to be a lifetime of waiting for fans of Half Life as developer kept mum on the details of the much-anticipated Half Life 3. Valve executive finally hinted recently the possibility that Half Life 3 is actually coming up before the year ends.
Valve boss Gabe Newell after all has not been silent about a Hal Life sequel as he dished out thoughts on the game's next installment.
In an online podcast, Newell was asked whether fans will see a glimpse of the game in the future or not. He did not answer the question directly, and instead said: "The only reason we'd go back and do like a super classic kind of product is if a whole bunch of people just internally at Valve said they wanted to do it and had a reasonable explanation for why [they did]."
With this statement, game geeks have presumed that Half Life 3 might be a bad idea to pursue, or Valve fellows are struggling to live up to the expectations of fans.
A review of the game states: "They have to really come out with a near-perfect, if not flawless, game in terms of graphics and performance because anything less would be hypocritical and turn off even the most avid "Half-Life" gamers and fans."
However, Newell stressed that the team wants to keep moving forward, not from the demise of Half Life but for its much-awaited developments. Half Life followers expect more of the tunnels and alien-infested landscapes for the sequel.
While the developer has not confirmed nor deny the reports, Half Life 3 has three pieces of concept art for the game on its website. Games Radar has also included Half Life 3 in its "games we want to see in 2015" article.
In another news, Valve has just released Source 2 engine and VR in collaboration with Taiwanese tech brand HTC at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015. This might be of good use for Half Life gameplay experience. Hal Life 2: Episode Two was launched in 2007. Thereafter, Valve released other games like Dota 2, Left 4 Dead, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, and Portal 2, cutting the series of Half Life.
